Boats docked, the sea wind blowing and the blue sky made up the scenery of the terrariums workshop for young people and children of the Solar do Unhão Community. The activity, promoted by Bahia Marina’s Environmental Education and Social Communication Program, usually takes place every Monday at the auditorium of our facilities, but this time it was changed to an open-air environment on the Marina’s breakwater, leading the audience to a pleasant learning experience in contact with nature.
Program participants have learned in practice how to assemble terrariums and miniature gardens in pots. With hands on the ground, they discovered how to create an ecosystem and reproduce the conditions of the environment in a micro-space.
Filled with curiosity, boys and girls knew the kind of material needed to keep the plants alive. Succulents were chosen for the workshop because they are beautiful and easy to grow. The idea is that the young people themselves take care of their miniature gardens and exercise their affection with nature.
By end the day, participants took advantage of the tranquility of the place for a picnic with fruits, juices, cakes and delicacies, enjoying the beautiful landscape of the Baía de Todos os Santos.
